The “What the LeBron” 11 was one of these rare cases when Nike decided to make their energy colorway available to public in decent numbers. Basically, those who wanted a pair… got it without paying extra. This Nike LeBron commemorative design is one of those items that looks better sitting deadstock as a collector’s item instead of wearing it. I don’t say that very often because all shoes are meant to be worn. This is the exception, but not for DeMarcus Cousins of the Sacramento Kings, who decided to lace up a pair last night vs. the Memphis Grizzlies. Cousins is an avid Nike LeBron fan and has a strong relationship with the LeBron XI. Check out the close ups below.

The “Watch the Throne” concept was first introduced along with the LeBron 9 in celebration of Jay Z and Kanye West’s Watch the Throne Tour. There are at least three different versions of the shoe with different outsole options (glow in the dark, translucent). Recently Nike has released a WTT look-a-like in the form of the Soldier 8’s, which resulted in probably the first Nike Soldier series instant sellout in years. Last season, after LeBron James’ career-high 61-point performance the “Watch the Throne” LeBron 11’s were unveiled and today we get a much better look courtesy of @secretsolecietys. The “WTT” LeBron XI features a predominantly black upper, gold Swoosh branding, floral details and a translucent outsole below. Shout out to Secret SoleCiety for sharing.

Back in the day, Nike started making Pink colorways for LeBron James, which was sort of a thank you to his mother Gloria. Then the Think Pink initiative kicked in and the Pink LeBrons gained a second meaning. For the LeBron 11 we already previewed the Think Pink colorway, which offers the classic approach, but this brand new Gold and Red PE version, labeled as Gloria, has been recently leaked to the Internet. Along with the Glorias folks at premium online store posted yet another LeBron 11 PE in Silver and Green. Both pairs are relatively new… it’s the first time we’re seeing them online. The listing has been updated.

Last week a couple of interesting School LeBron 12 PEs surfaced the Internet. Today, we take a closer look at one of the most interesting from last season offerings… the “Florida Gators” LeBron 11 PEs. This was the very first time that Gators got personalized kicks from the LeBron James brand and it was indeed special. The popular color blocking was probably enough to create just enough hype, but the custom zig-zag graphics really set these off. Detailed photos have eluded us for a while, but they recently popped up on eBay giving us a much needed closer look at both Home and Away styles.

The Dunkman theme has become a part of the publicly available part of the LeBron James’ signature line. Last season, Nike released a couple of different Dunkman inspired Nike LeBron products including the Mids, which were faintly labeled as Mica Green, the Lows and even the Slides. All of them featured different Dunkman logos (different poses) in different places. Back in the day the Dunkman was all about Mean Green and Gun Metal Grey, however, Nike shifted into other direction once it had become widely available. In my opinion, other experiments have failed apart from the Black and Volt LeBron 7’s. The LeBron 9 Elite Dunkman is also noteworthy, but that was a PE. Check out an alternate version of the Dunkman LeBron 11 below, which proudly sports the Dunkman logo on the tongue and on the back of the shoe. It was never released to public and maybe that’s why it’s better than the GR. It’s still not OG-Dunkman good, though. We definitely need better pics too.

Here’s a side-by-side comparison of the LeBron 11 and the LeBron 12 in their initial colorways… King’s Pride and NRSL, respectively. The most important aspect that everybody is looking forward to finding out is the on-court performance, but we still have to wait a little longer to solve that mystery. Nike has probably learned from last year’s mistakes and there’s no drop-in midsole this time around. Aesthetically, the materials are roughly the same, but each section has significant upgrades. Instead of using Hyperfuse they modified the structure with a Megafuse composition, which adds a layer of stiff rubbery surface. The shoe is much more flexible now, but still offers a lot of support. The new design is quite pleasing, but putting that small Swoosh on the toe area for the third straight year doesn’t seem innovative to me. Actually both Nike Swoosh logos and their placement is the main reason the LeBron 12 might be a difficult match for casual wear. Check out the LeBron 11 vs. LeBron 12 pics below and stay tuned for updates regarding the new launch date.

Before we proceed to the LeBron 12 Lifestyle, which is only a couple of days away, let’s take a closer look at probably the most overlooked colorway of the LeBron 11 Lifestyle. As you may know Nike implemented a Cork version, but even this special style wasn’t able to draw much attention. There’s an alternate LeBron XI NSW Lifestyle “Red Cork” colorway that’s even more interesting and was also released this summer. The Red Cork features a red and black cork based upper finished off by a white vulcanized sole. The shoe’s red base is overlaid with black at the quarter-panel and heel. A black textile tongue offers a respite from wood, capped off with LeBron’s NSW lion logo.

The recently released China colorway of the Nike Max LeBron XI Low seems to be the final chapter in the latest installment of LeBron James’ signature low-top sneakers. The China LeBron 11 Lows conclude a series of twelve different colorways that were actually released to public, however, I still have very high hopes for this super clean White and Grey sample to reach retail too. The “Chinese Vase” Max LeBron XI Low is probably the most creative design this year by using actual patterns from a Chinese vase. Normally this would be dull, but Nike managed to give it a proper aggressive feel. Check out the new detailed photos below.
